F.Y.R.O.M. news: FYROM Tightens Rules on Foreign Media

After the government this week submitted a draft law on Foreign Press Materials, Foreign Movies and Foreign Information Activity to parliament, a debate is expected to start next week.

According to the draft law, foreign media will only be able to work in FYROM on the basis of written permits granted by the Foreign Ministry.

These permits will also have to be renewed each year.

Foreign correspondents caught interviewing or filming in FYROM without permits, or with permits that have expired, will face fines ranging from 500 to 1,000 euro………….. Διαβάστε περισσότερα…

F.Y.R.O.M. news: Positive EU Report Awaits FYROM, Fule Says

FYROM has undertaken significant reforms this year as part of its EU accession agenda and can expect a positive progress report, says European Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule.
Fule praised the pace of progress in FYROM after speaking on Monday with Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and the Vice Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs, Teuta Arifi.
They met at the third round of “high-level” Skopje-Brussels talks on a reform process that is intended to complement future EU accession negotiations.
